Wisdom Tooth Removal

Where – Wisdom teeth often known as third molars are the last teeth to erupt and erupt at the age of 17 – 21 years. There is 4 set of wisdom teeth two on each upper and lower jaw.
When – Pain behind molars which can increase with time.Swelling,Jaw pain and stiffness at the angle of jaws. They are impacted or causing crowding.Erupted at the wrong angle and causing damage to the adjacent tooth.
Why – Because of the misaligned positioning of the jaw, it will become difficult to brush or floss making the tooth prone to decay and gum disease and can cause damage to the adjacent teeth also.
Procedure – During wisdom tooth extraction local anaesthesia is given to numb the tooth,surrounding area after which an incision is made to cut the gum tissue and expose the tooth and the bone.A small amount of bone may be removed and tooth might be cut into fragments to make it easier for its removal and suture is placed after the removal of tooth.
