Dentures

Where – Dentures are removable appliances which are used as a replacement of missing teeth and tissues.
When – Complete dentures are advised when all the teeth are missing, and partial dentures are applied when some natural teeth are missing.
Why – Missing teeth can change the position of other teeth as well as when all teeth are missing it will result in collapse of facial tissues and also decreased food intake of the patient.
Procedure – Initially impression of the jaws are taken after which wax models are prepared to check the fit in the mouth, once fit is fine final impression is taken and denture is made and if any fine adjustments are required it will be made.

Time – Usually within 7-10 days.
